Sue Bullock, a dear friend of mine, has traveled all over the world and touched many people’s lives. Her health has been failing and as a homage to her, three local artists Susan Dupont Baptista, Colleen Thompson & myself have banded together with Sue Bullock to form the Enclave Project II.
Enclave is a safe haven surrounded by hostile territory. We chose this name because of the lack of wide spread support and appreciation for fine art in our community. Project is a dream with a deadline. This time, our dream is a fine art show that represents Sue Bullock’s life, travels and the people she has met.
Sue Bullock shared her stories and her photographs with us and with her permission, we made paintings from these photographs. These paintings are now hanging in Windblown & Weathered Studio Gallery Shoppe, 10 Division Street North, Kingsville, ON, for our “One Woman, 88 countries” fine art show running from February 16, 2017 to March 25, 2017. Join us for our celebration of Sue, life, love, travel and fine art during the Artist Reception Saturday, February 25, 2017 from 7-9pm.
Time is Precious, India
Making a living hauling palm branches to market. The man steers the yoke, the zebu tolerates the extreme heat to pull their load and the woman wastes no time, weaving while en route to market. This painting was developed from a photo taken in 1987 by Sue while on route from Delhi to Agra, India.
